The last couple of years have been exciting for ROBOT84, the brainchild of London based DJ, Producer & Remixer, Scott Ferguson.
ROBOT84’s first release was ‘I Need Ur Luv’ which featured on Midnight Riot Vol.2 album, the creation of fellow DJ/Producer Yam Who? Played by Greg Wilson, Ashley Beedle, DJ Alfredo (IBIZA), Craig Smith (6TH Borough Project), Yam who? Soul Clap and DJ Mash (CAPITAL RADIO).
ROBOT84 produced a rework of FGTH ‘Welcome to the Pleasuredome’. The promo received support from the likes of Greg Wilson, Alfredo (Ibiza) Erol Alkan, Danny Rampling, Tom Findlay (Groove Armada), Graeme Park, DJ Mash (CAPITAL RADIO), Chris Coco, Rug ‘n’ Tug (New York), Ewan Pearson, Faze Action.
The story goes like this, Greg Wilson played the tune at Bestival in the summer of 2011, Café Mambo resident DJ and Producer Pete Gooding was there and heard it. Shortly after this ROBOT84 was signed to Secret Life Records, owned by Pete Gooding and Phil Dockerty. FGTH was released on limited edition red vinyl in early 2012 on ROBOT84 records.
In early 2013, Secret Life released their first single called ‘Same Old Street’ by Pete Gooding himself and featured vocal and dub remixes by ROBOT84.
ROBOT84’s EP ‘So Badly’ was released in April 2013, containing the title track, along with ‘Can’t You See’ and dub remixes. DJ plays and support from Craig Bratley, Soulclap, Chris Coco, DJ Mash, Ali Oftt and Danny Howells.
In June 2013 ROBOT84 released a double A side ‘Giant / Wishing Well’ via Prime as a follow-up to the FGTH edit on ROBOT84 records, on limited edition blue vinyl. This has been championed by many big DJs again such as Jose Padilla, Alfredo, Bill Brewster, Il Fragranti, Ursula 1000, Tim Sweeney, Max Essa and Eli from Soulclap.
This summer has seen ROBOT84 playing a Sunset session at Café Savannah, Ibiza for the Ministry of Sound pre-party. He also played a Balearic set at Ibiza Rocks house at the legendary Pikes hotel. Following this he DJ’d at UK festival, Strawberry Fields as part of the Secret Life roster.
Scott is currently working on some exciting ROBOT84 projects such as remixes of ‘I got a lot’ by DJs Violent Romance and ‘De Testimony’ by the Fini Tribe, also more original ROBOT84 material to be released later in the year.
